Our vehicles are on the road Monday through Saturday, helping individuals access the community. Drivers travel throughout the region and clock more than forty thousand miles a year. Public and medical transportation are essential to help thriving, active communities.
Oak Ridge Transit reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Riders should call 865-482-2785 to schedule a trip at least 24 hours in advance. Requests made after 24 hours will be considered based on available space. Riders should be ready for pick-up at least thirty minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.
Riders should ask their driver for a return pick-up card before leaving the vehicle. This card has the phone number to call when the customer is ready for pick-up. Oak Ridge Transit has a window of pick-up time, which is as follows: Vehicles will not be considered late until 30 minutes after the requested pick-up time. Every effort will be made to notify the rider if the driver is running beyond this window of pick-up due to uncontrolled circumstances.
In order to ensure the timeliness of service, drivers will wait five minutes at the pick-up location. After five minutes, the rider will be considered a no-show. Cancellations should be made at least two hours before the scheduled pick-up or return pick-up time. If a trip is not cancelled, it will be considered a no-show. See the no show policy. Riders transported under contract (TennCare, Family First, Job Access, etc.) will be given three no-show trips. After three no-show trips are recorded, future transit needs will be canceled until further notice.
